This, too, shall pass...

The towers took up a lot of volumetric space, but nothing compared to the void left by their disappearance.

Steve Irwin.
I failed to say anything about him last week.
I liked the guy, a lot.
I will miss him, a lot.

Here's a little something to hopefully cheer us up a bit.
It's a 47-meg QuickTime file (right-click/save as to download).
The brand new trailer for Casino Royale, which looks like a REALLY good Bond film.
The sibling and I are both very excited about it.

Sweeeeeet!
His track was all over the nightclub scenes and the end credits.
The film should open stateside later this month, probably L.A./NY only.
It's very much an "auteur" film, a personal project for Luc Besson.
Did you like it?

I sure liked it. I got exactly what I expected, a decent story and wonderful black and white pictures from Paris. You want to screen-cap almost every scene. It will probably make you homesick. :)
I didn't like too much the ending of the story, but it's not a problem since the journey through Paris is definitely worth it. The dialogues between the main characters are still okay in our dubbed version but you might have an advantage when you hear the French original. I was a bit worried beforehand because of model-turned-actress Rie Rasmussen but it's no problem, she plays very well.

As for the release date in your part of the world. I'm afraid the dates vary (http://www.sonyclassics.com/comingsoon.php?filmid=313&page=1). :(
