So my brother walked into my room this morning and said:
"Tu veus aller voir Hulk?" ("Wanna go see The Hulk?")
To which I replied "mrflbrz?" (I was sleepy)

So yeah, we're gonna catch a matinée of Das Hulk (Der Hulk?).
That is, if I can get the sib to jump in the shower and not stay there for an hour.
Thank the Fanged God we don't pay for water in this place!

More later...

So I went to see "HULK" with the sibling.
We went to The Bridge Cinema, our local beloved all-stadium seating retro-60's jet-set-lounge twin-IMAX independent theater to see it, of course.
The theater was crowded, but we still got decent seats.
After the obligatory Movietickets.com and L.A. Times ads, the parade of trailers began:

1) "Second-Hand Lions", with the kid from Sixth Sense and a pair of crazy old
coots played by Michael Caine and some mostly-bald guy whose name escapes me.
2) "Capitol Barbie". 'Nuff said.
3) "Terminator 3". That one might actually not suck.
4) A new live-action Peter Pan. Hopefully better than "Hook".
5) I can't remember.

So how was "HULK"?
Goooooood.
Damn good.
Collateral damage and character development! In the same movie!
More serious than "Spider-Man". Closer to "X-Men".
And the CGI Hulk looks good. TV doesn't do him justice.
Don't worry about how cheezy he looks on TV.
On the big screen, he looks great.

This one's a keeper.

Cat In The Hat!!
That's what the 5th trailer was!
Mike Myers plays the Dr. Seuss character.
(Seuss, not Suess. Check it kids, das how you spell "Seuss".)
Another drug-induced live-action cartoon lunacy.
And there seems to be an awful lot of property damage.
I didn't know the ol' Hat-Cat was a Demolion Man!

I will freely admit I liked the Grinch movie with Jim Carrey,
eventhough I'm not a fan of 75% of his output.
Mike ain't Jim. Let's hope he keeps this one Scott-free, if ya knowhadamean!

Two things about "HULK"...

1) Diagonal elevators! It's not for anime, manga, and videogames anymore!

2) Welcome to the Black Mesa Research Facility, Dr. Banner!
