There's finally a trailer up on Apple.com for Martin Scorcese's new one,
The Aviator.
The movie is about Howard Hughes.
Fast planes, fast women.
Hmmmmmmmmmm, yeaaaaa... (kzin grin)
While you're there, check out the "Hero" trailer under Miramax. Jet Li goodness on the way.
Random bits:
Still looking for an apartment. Some people should learn to RETURN messages!!!
Why the flap do you advertize then, if ya don't return phone calls??!?
Nantucket Nectars Lemonade kicks all sorts of ass.
Finally picked up "SSX3" for the ol' PS2 last payday.
Beast Buy was good enough to drop the price to $20.
I was there again today and saw the price was back up to $30. Yea me!
OMGWTFBBQ, this game rocks!
Except for the menu structure and game-pathing, which needs work.
The game structure has been changed completely:
instead of a bunch of different tracks, the game is built around one large
mountain with 3 separate peaks. You actually snowboard from event to event.
Except for when you switch peaks. Then you're shuttled in an Osprey tilt-rotor.
The graphics are utterly gorgeous. The snow comes in many different forms.
My brother, the skier and snowboarder, was amazed at how real the snow felt.
He was getting flashbacks to his own skiing in the French Alps.
Those kids at EA Canada have done their homework.
And speaking of games, here are some random game info tidbits:
the perenial futuristic racing franchise (and one of my all-time favorite series)
will not return to the PS2 in the near future. "WipEout" will find a home on Sony's
new and exciting portable device, the PSP, however. Better than nothing I say!
The vaguely-Lynx-looking device will ship in March 2005. It will have, among
other things, a "Champions Of Norrath"-derived (EverQuest) title at launch.
I know all this because the head of Sony Online Entertainment came by and gave us a presentation.
"EverQuest 2" looks really impressive, and so are the specs needed to play it once it comes out.
You need a 3-gigahertz machine, for starters. Yikes...
Planning to see "Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Alakazam" this weekend.
Hoping that Sony will screen "The Chronicles Of Riddick" next month.
Scored myself some nice "Hellboy" posters. Considering putting one or two on eBay.
Oh gad, my brain is crashing, I can't think of anything else to talk about...
Oh yeah, I had a weird day today.
I was really tired, so I called in late, and grabbed an extra hour of shut-eye.
I mean, what's the point of going to work if you're half-asleep? You won't be productive anyway.
So I finally got up, ran through my normal routine, then walked outside.
I got to the bus stop and noticed that the entire street had been torn up.
Figuring this would slow the bus down, I walked over to the West gate of the Sony
Studios.
I don't actually work on the main lot, I work in a satelite building to the East of the lot.
And there's a shuttle that goes to that building, and the ones around it.
It's aptly named the "Culver Shuttle", because those satelite buildings are clustered
around the "Culver Studios" lot (and a nice, shiny, new Trader Joe's. R0X0R!!)
So anyway, I get on the lot and ask security to call the shuttle.
And the shuttle doesn't answer. WTF?
And the shuttle never did answer any of its radio calls.
And I had to take the parking shuttle to get to the other side of the main lot,
then walk the rest of the way, passing in front of the Culver Studios.
So I was later than late. Argh!!!
But my boss is cool, and since I usually stay longer after work, we're cool.
Anyway, enough for now.
More when the brain starts working again...
