I like your take on the Independence Day menu. We used to do home-made sushi on Easter. Why not? There were brightly colored eggs involved. Salmon eggs, masago, tamago... hehehe.

A friend of mine used to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in a rebellious fashion, with a "Cinque de Mai" French picnic, to commemorate the =winning= side in that particular conflict. Sometimes I wonder why nobody ever threw rocks at her house with the Tricoleur out front... Oh well, historical illiteracy is everywhere I suppose. :-(

"The Green Hornet is the Lone Ranger's grand-nephew." I think it was Philip Jose Farmer who devised a whole big family tree that connected many of the literary and comic book heroes of the 19th and 20th Centuries, in TARZAN ALIVE! and DOC SAVAGE: HIS APOCALYPTIC LIFE. Fun stuff.
