A drooling Kzinti is not a pretty sight...

So I was minding my own business, browsing the Web, and I went to Slickdeals.net to see what discounted happiness laid in wait.
And WHAM!! They hit me with THIS!!!
5 pound bags of assorted Haribo gummy products on sale. And they have EVERYTHING!!
Bears, cola bottles, frogs, pasta, clown fish, cherries, rattlesnakes, giant cola bottles (4-inch long!),
and even the all-time classic licorice wheels I remember from my childhood!

I'm having a gummigasm looking at all this stuff.

I'm considering ordering a 5 pound bag of giant cola bottles.
Hey, I can have it shipped to my work.
Hee-hee-hee (rubs his paws in glee).
Wait! Free shipping if I have buy two bags!
Oooooh ho ho ho ho...
I'm doing it!
One bag of giant cola bottles, and one bag of licorice wheels.
YES!!!!

Urrrrrrrrr...
"delivery estimate: July 18, 2006 - July 19, 2006"!?!?!?!?!?!?
WTF????
This does not compute.
I hope it's some sort of mistake and it's really May 18th or 19th.
I mean, really.
2 months and 1.5 weeks?
Grrrrr...

That's a long time... :/

(I wonder if they're importing things from somewhere, and they don't get shipments very often.)

Well, both of the items I ordered are listed as "in stock, usually ships in 1-2 weeks".
Now, looking at the calendar, May 18-19 corresponds to 2 weeks from the order date.
I think it's a computer error and that July is showing up instead of May somehow.
I hope.

I spotted Queen: The Crown Jewels box set for $38, and had to get it. Too bad I couldn't get Amazon.com's PS2 + 2 games for $104 deal. Yes, I don't have a PS2 yet (or Xbox, or GC)... :)

Slickdeals can be real handy sometimes.
They tipped me off to a one-day sale at Staples where I scored myself a
Sandisk 1-Gig thumbdrive for a measly $40 (this was back in September '05).
I use that thumbdrive every other day.
Also got some free subs to game mags I wouldn't pay good money for, like EGM and Gamepro.
I used to subscribe to Next Generation when it was around.
I like my game magazines with a little more substance and a higher IQ.
Are there no more smartypants game mags?
Even Computer Gaming World is like Xtreem haxx0r or something.

There's always England's EDGE magazine if you don't mind international shipping. It's the closest you'll find to Next Generation, as they were directly related to each other.

Could be surface shipping involved - that'll take about that length of time for a transatlantic shipment, yet remain much more affordable than an airmail package. One would think they'd ship in bulk, but perhaps they run everything from mainland Europe. Then again, the fine print says they're in California.. ah, maybe there are just stray pockets of excess time floating around..

(Hm. No sales tax on candy in California? How odd)

Only Two More Months!

I cancelled the order.
No way I'm waiting 2 months for this stuff.
Amazonian imbeciles...
