My eMusic downloads regenerated today, so I started browsing the new additions...
!!!!!!!
They signed Warp yesterday!!
OMG-WTF-909!!!
What does this mean?
It means that possibly the greatest electronic music label of all time is now on eMusic!!
There are only 12 titles so far. More will be added later. Herewith the twelve:
1 - Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy (EP)
2 - Aphex Twin - Drukqs (2-CD)
3 - Aphex Twin - Richard D. James (CD)
4 - Aphex Twin - Window Licker (EP)
5 - Autechre - Chiastic Slide (CD)
6 - Autechre - Confield (CD)
7 - Boards Of Canada - In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country (EP)
8 - Broadcast - The Noise Made By People (CD)
9 - Prefuse-73 - Vocal Studies And Uprock Narratives (CD)
10 - Squarepusher - Go Plastic (CD)
11 - Squarepusher - Hard Normal Daddy (CD)
12 - Various Artists - 10+2 Classics (2-CD)
Out of those, I'm downloading 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 12 outright. I already own 1, 2, 3 and 11 on CD.
As for 8 and 9, I will check them out to see if they're interesting.
If you like electronic music and funky stuff, you can't really go wrong with anything released by Warp.
Also, eMusic now has 4 albums by Biosphere. This particular artist makes what's known as "polar ambient".
It's ambient music with a distinctive chilly edge, with a feeling of remoteness and icebergs.
It's kinda nifty, if you're into that sort of thing. And it's way better than new age.
If you prefer your ambient spacier, eMusic just added "The Geometry Of Night" by S.E.T.I.
It's their third release and one I already own on CD.
And eMusic does have that extensive collection of Fax Records albums which attracted me to the service in the first place.
Tons of spacy and dubby ambient goodness there. "The Fires Of Ork", "S.H.A.D.O.", "Organic Cloud" are especially nice.
Isn't that right, Mr. Squiddle?
I am excited at this turn of event.
Can you tell? :D

Does eMusic deal in music videos too? As we all know, there are one or two quite memorable productions associated with some of those. =:) (Not that I'd be in the market, given (a) a lack of money, (b) I already have the Directors Label DVD of Mr Cunningham's work; but there must be "virgins" out there yet)
