o/~ In the not-too-distant future, next Sunday A.D.... o/~

Ahem, urrrrr, hi!
So the big news is that Irresponsible Captain Spino has invited me to The Magic Castle on Monday January 15th (MLK Day).
One of the magicians can't perform some of the days he's scheduled to appear for, so the Castle has booked a replacement
for those days. And they picked "just another face in a red jumpsuit" to cover for him.
Yes.
That's right.
Joel Hodgson.

SQUEE!!!

Ahem.
I have never been to "The Magic Castle".
I understand they have a strict dress code.
This is what my schedule looks like for the next few days:
Tomorrow: get paid, and watch the money dissappear almost completely (rent, storage, etc...).
Saturday: Spino helps me get the right clothes for the Castle.
Sunday: Get a haircut from my stylist at his home, and fix his computer in exchange.
Monday: Day off from work for MLK Day. Prepare for, then enjoy with Spino a night of fun and magic with Joel at the Castle.
I'm soooooo excited!!!

So we had a strange bout of warm weather here recently. Monday was warm. Tuesday was downright summer-like.
Wednesday was cooler. And today is cold-ish, with big hunks of grey and white clouds. There could be rain on the horizon.

Photos have recently been leaked of the 2007 Lego sets scheduled to ship in Summer and Fall.
They can be seen here.
Of particular interest are:
Jedi Starfighter W/Hyperdrive Ring (Episode III version)
Trade Federation MTT with 20 Battle Droids! Looking much bigger and nicer than the original set from 2000.
Naboo Fighter and Vulture Droid which is probably mislabeled. That should be a normal Droid Fighter.
Vulture Droid Fighters are from Episode III, while Naboo Fighters and Droid Fighters are from Episode I.
The Naboo Fighter is an updated version of the set released in 1999, when the Lego Star Wars line debuted.
The updated versions all seem to be larger than the originals. And slicker, thanks to the newer parts.
Weird alien ship from the new Mars Mission line.
Crazy orange tracked and wheeled tank/robot thing also from Mars Mission.
Armadillo vehicle from "Armageddon" okay, maybe not, but close! Also Mars Mission.
Lego had a line called "Life On Mars" and I guess they're reviving it here.
Motorized ferriswheel (take THAT, K-Nex!!)
IR remote-controlled motorized heavy bulldozer using the new caterpillar tread design.

This is all in addition to what's already shipping for 2007: the updated AT-ST, updated Y-Wing, the Trade Federation and
Republic battle packs, the Imperial Landing Craft, and General Grievous' '65 Buick Riviera spaceship.
This is all very nifty and it makes me go SQUEEEE!
(And holy crap, I didn't mean for this to devolve into such a link-fest! LOL!)
Now, if only they'd reissue the Republic Gunship so I don't have to get one on eBay for $200, that would be very cool.
They've reissued sets before: the Y-Wing versus TIE Advanced set, and the Millenium Falcon, for example.
One can only hope.

By the way, this is all sorts of awesome.
Solid state hard drive. No moving parts. 64Gigs. Squee!

And this reminds me of "War Of The Worlds", all versions. Robosnake, squee!

I think I better stop. I'm using up all my Squee Quota.

EDIT: Irresponsible Captain Spino is now on LJ! Say hello to [livejournal.com profile] dcotelessa!!

OMGWTFTHERESA!!!
So nice to see you!
I've friended you back, of course!
So cool to see you on this thing!

I've been meaning to get to your website and drop me an e-mail at least, but I keep forgetting.
And when I remember, I'm not near a computer. I suck...

Anyway, you're here! Squee!!

I did not know Joel was a Magic Castle performer. Double Squee for serendipity! Sometimes the understudy turns out to be a better thing.
