Un mambo numérique a la Coconut!!

Still rampaging and pillaging through Urge!
I keep finding stuff that's also on eMusic, except MISFILED!!!!!
For example, Senor Coconut's new album: "Seno Coconut And His Orchestra: Yellow Fever!"
It's under "New Age", sub-classification "World". Say what!??!?
It's an album of lounge and latino versions of Yellow Magic Orchestra tunes.
(YMO is Ryuichi Sakamoto's old band. Sakamoto-san was once described as Japan's David Bowie.)
This album is SO PERKY!! And if you know the originals, it's downright hilarious!
I've raved about Senor Coconut before. He's a German techno artist with a sense of humor.
No, really!
His name is Uwe Schmidt and he's put out stuff under the names "Atom", "Atom Heart", "lb",
"Atomu Shinzu", "Lassigue Bendthaus", "Senor Coconut" and possibly others.
The Coconut stuff is his outlet for latin-flavored wackiness.
He put out an album of Kraftwerk tunes done in assorted latin music styles!
Then he did another one with various rock classics ("Smoke On The Water", "Hotel California", stuff like that).
eMusic only carries two of his albums though: "Yellow Fever" and one of his own latin-techno compositions (which is pretty nifty).
"Yellow Fever" is here.
The intermissions can't be previewed, they're too short.
Some other neat stuff I listened to on Urge and found in eMusic:
Morgan Geist - "The Driving Memoirs"
An American inspired by Detroit Techno and old Black Dog tracks (from whence Plaid spawned).
Union Jack - "There Will Be No Armageddon"
An essential addition to the collection of any fan of '90s techno. Contains a bunch of classics.
Point Loma - "Forneo"
Eventhough this is by one of the Nortec (Techno de Tijuana) crew, this sounds more like the kind of
minimalist German techno produced by the likes of Basic Channel. With a slight Spanish accent. :)
So there you go. Share and enjoy!
