See, I always thought that was "Put the needle on the record when the drum beats go like this." Multi-Googles suggest the even worse variant, "...song beats...".
Either "dope" or "drum" works, really. I would have to track down the original tune that sample is from to confirm. (And now, it's not "Pump Up The Volume")
