A little late to the party

I just finished watching Season 1 of the new Doctor Who.
Yes, the one with Christopher Eccleston.
Over the past two nights/mornings, I used the magic of Streamflixing (streaming off Netflix) to watch Season 1.
Now, I'm not a Doctor Who fan. The show was never shown on French TV.
And I never watched it here in the US. It was just too cheesy.
But I do like the Daleks and I know about the Cybermen and stuff.

So, what do I think of New Who Season 1?
It's fantastic!
Oh my god, the writing is so good!
They really worked on that whole character development thing!
"The Empty Child" is soooo creepy!
And "Dalek" is just incredible.

I... . . . ...I think I'm a fan...

I put Season 2 in my queue.
And now, I'm going to bed.

Yes, the "new Who" is crazy good.
If you're not watching it already, catch the companion series "Torchwood" on BBC America; also by the same staff as Dr Who.

That is just so typical of French media in the 60's - 80's. Everyone else I know from the rest of Europe saw DOCTOR WHO, from Ireland to Austria.

Watch for episodes by Stephen Moffat. He's the writer to watch. EMPTY CHILD in Series 1, as well as THE GIRL IN THE FIREPLACE in Series 2, took home Hugo Awards in their respective years. And I expect he will go for a three-peat with Series 3's BLINK, which is everything we love about Doctor Who; the "monster" may not be expensive and high-tech, but totally threatening the way it's written.

Blink was much rockage, yes. :D

Why? Why must France be so contrary?

It's just Eddie Izzard said! They're so... French!

It was never shown on German TV either. I only heard here on LJ about it and that it covers a time span of multiple decades.
The only time I was considering checking it out was when I repeatedly saw pictures of Freema Agyeman on my flist. ;)
