One more time!!
Let's try this again. Hopefully, the LJ site won't suddenly die on me, again.
You know, this Netflix thing is pretty cool so far. (www.netflix.com)
It's a Web-assisted mail-order DVD rental service. It's $19.95 a month, and you can rent up to 3 movies at a time. Postage is free. You can keep the movies as long as you like.
I'm giving it a whirl, and so far, it's gone a little something like this:
Mon 7th: joined Netflix and placed movies in my rental queue.
Tue 8th: got confirmation e-mails that first 3 movies were inbound.
Wed 9th: received all 3 movies in the mail.
Wed 9th, evening: watched 1st movie, then put it in the mail.
Thu 10th: watched 2nd movie.
Fri 11th: got confirmation e-mail of 1st movie received and 4th movie shipped.
Sat 12th: got 4th movie in the mail.
Now, that's service!
Granted, my quick turnaround time is probably due to the fact that I'm in California, which seems to be Netflix's home state. I don't know how fast it would be for other states. Still, considering how much it costs to rent from Blockbusters, plus the extra hassle of going there, hoping they have what you want, standing in line, and returning the movies in time (late fees, argh!!), this is totally worth it! The sib and I are total movie junkies, so we're gonna get our money's worth and more!
In other news, it looks like Tuesday, this Tuesday, is the day for Elvis' procedure. I'm really not looking forward to this. I've never had to go through something like this. Our other dog stayed with my aunt when we moved to the US, so I never saw him again.
Elvis is the first dog I've had from birth to death.
He's been so good to us, and we've been good to him.
Since he is in pain, we can't let him suffer until the end.
We owe it to him.
This doesn't make it any easier.
Damn...
