Waiting For Spino
I swear I should write a play called that.
If I had a penny for every minute I've waited for Spino to call or show up,
I'd be able to pay all my debts.
So I'm awaiting the Spino...
We're supposed to run a couple of errands today then go see "Spy Kids 3D: Game Over".
We have to see it in the afternoon because it's a kid's movie and it's not shown
in the evening or at night. This is slightly annoying.
So here I sit, making CD labels.
I'm listening to the recent Death In Vegas release "Scorpio Rising".
I really enjoyed DIV's first album. It had the right mix of techno and rock,
and a delightful cover of the classic English Beat track "Twist And Crawl",
with Ranking Rogers on vocals even!
Then came "The Contino Sessions", DIV's second album. I didn't like it.
And now, here's "Scorpio Rising", their third effort. And I don't like it either.
Too much neo-rock.
Blargh.
Yesterday, I was with Spino and Sweetie. We went to Melrose for a bit, then to
The Grove to try and see "Spy Kids 3D". It was 7pm, and it wasn't playing.
We looked at all the other movies playing and didn't feel like paying $10.50
to see any of them. So we went home and they showed me a tape of "The Complete
Works Of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" by the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
Holy crap, that was funny! It's half-vaudeville, half-Shakespeare, and a quarter
balancing act. The three guys run through most of Shakespeare' stuff in 90 minutes.
A must-see!!!
Well, time to call Spino again and see if he picks up...
