GLASSES ON!

When we last left our intrepid hero, he was awaiting the arrival of the USS Ryo-Oh-Ki with
Irresponsible Captain Tylor, I mean Spino, at its helm and Sweetie as XO. Ahooga-ahooga!!
The boomer pulled in 30 minutes after I completed the previous entry.
We ran our errand first, and the results were disappointing.

So we rushed to The Bridge to catch the last showing of "Spy Kids 3D: Game Over" that day.
At 4:20pm. We got there speedily and I bounded ahead to get ourselves some seats while
Spi and Swee got themselves some concession snackies. Being French, I'm not used to buying
food at the cinema. I just go in and watch the movie. I had to leap back out of the theater
to tell Spi and Swee to get the 3D glasses from the concessioners. Then I leapt back in
to make sure nobody swiped our seats while I was gone. I didn't need to worry though,
as the theater was sparsely populated. Since we got there late, we missed all the trailers.
This being a kid's movie, this was actually probably a good thing.

Spi ans Swee showed up with snackies and glasses during the opening credits, which were in
3D, and by the time we got the hermetically-sealed space-age plastic wrapping off the 3D
shades to put them on, the words GLASSES OFF appeared on the screen. D'oh!!

Everybody who was in Spy Kids 1 and 2 shows up in 3. It's almost like Robert Rodriguez
filmed all 3 movies at once, much like a certain kiwi hobbit, except not. (grin)
The movie had the usual Rodriguez sense of humor and sensibility.
And speaking of hobbits, there's a hilarious cameo from a certain wide-eyed actor.
All and all, a good time was had by all.

After that, we stopped at Trader Joe's for some foodage, and then I was dropped home.
The rest of the evening was spent working on some computer stuff then watching some of
the bonus material from "The Fellowship Of The Ring". There's a lot of stuff to go through
and a lot of it is really interesting. I've never read the books myself, but now, I think
I will. Tolkien put so much work into it all, it would be disrespectful to ignore it.
And it's fun to see the influence it's had on everybody, from band names to references
and borrowing from characters, plots and situations. You know everyone does it! (grin)

"If you go to Z'ha'dum, you will die..."

In other news, the brother called Monday night at 10pm. He was in Reno and headed South.
He's back from Burning Man. He reached L.A. at 7am this morning, and I shan't see him
until after work tonight. I bet he will have a lot of stories to tell. This was his first BM.
And that's all for now. Happy Labor Day revocery!
