Meme Reloaded
Oh crap!!!!
I forgot to put Orbital somewhere in my song meme!!
Actually, I did, but then I put in something else and forgot to add them back in.
Also, I found a better Aphex Twin track with a "Z" in it.
Here's the revised version:
Z - "Z Twig" (Aphex Twin) "Hi, I'm Richard D. James and I'm gonna fuck with your mind."
R - "Radio Babylon" (Meat Beat Manifesto) The beat everybody stole!
A - "All We Ever Look For" (Kate Bush) She totally rules. I wish she'd make a new album.
T - "Trans Europe Express" (Kraftwerk) These guys, boy I tell ya. I love 'em.
H - "Herd Killing" [We Have Explosives] (Future Sound Of London) BEST TRAKC EVAR!!1!
-
S - "Stars And Heroes" (Luke Slater) Like Gary Numan/New Order/(old) Ministry rolled into one!
M - "(The) Moebius" (Orbital) Major deities in the Electronic Music pantheon.
I - "I Want You" (Cabaret Voltaire) Pioneers, revolutionaries,
L - "Love Without Anger" (Devo) Wow, those guys. They were really something.
E - "European Female" (The Stranglers) WHat if The Doors had been British and brawly?
Y - "You're Gonna Get Yours" (Public Enemy) Yeaaaaaa boyeeeeeeee!!
Sorry Moby! Sorry 808 State! Maybe next time...
So yeah, "Radio Babylon" by Meat Beat Manifesto has one of the most jacked beats of all time.
Future SOund Of London used it for "Papua New Guinea", the very first giant smash hit.
The Prodigy built their entire early career on it and it was used verbatim in "Charlie Says".
Lots of other Techno and Hip-Hop artists were also inspired by that seminal track.
"There is the theory of the Moebius. A twist in the fabric of space
where time becomes a loop. And from which there is no escape."
