Waiting for connection...
It's the weekend, and I am NOT at work.
I'm at the local cybercafe again, using my laptop this time.
My EVDO card hasn't come in yet.
And I still don't have any Internet connection at home.
I had ordered Comcast Cable 'Net but I came to my senses.
Instead, I've added DSL to the roommate's (Playa's) newly acquired phone line.
This will be more convenient and cheaper than getting cable.
We've already got a pair of routers and a bunch of cables throughout the apartment.
If SBC/AT&T simply turns the DSL faucet back on under Playa's name, everything will be hunky-dory.
However, for some reason, they need 6 days to turn the faucet back on.
So I won't have connection at home until Thursday the 16th.
I hope those ijits do it right.
Le grrrrrrrrrrrr...
Pascal continues to undergo radiation treatment and other medical things.
It's not improving his mood any. He told me he had infected lymphnodes near his left collar bone.
They're being dealt with along with the radiation treament.
He's got two more weeks of this stuff, maybe three.
We've contacted several organizations to see if we could get him some assistance with transportation,
and bills, and more importantly paying for all this medical care. He was already enrolled in a couple
of programs that took care of the medical bills, but it looks like the membership expired.
We're getting forms in the mail soon about all that stuff.
Tranportation would be great. He spends at least 3 hours a day on buses traveling to and fro the Med Center.
And a lot of those hours are in MTA buses, which can try the patience and good-nature of anyone.
And if one thinks only whites are racist, one is fooling one's self greatly.
Work is work.
Busy-busy-busy.
We have this nifty program for our cellphones.
It can tell you what a song is and who sings it.
Just hold the phone up to the music.
It's the bee's knees.
Anyway, the sun is setting and I better get outta here while it's still daytime.
It's been cold out here lately.
Tell my friends on FurryMuck that I miss them, and I'll be back once home Internet is restored.
Shade and sweetwater!
