WE EAT TONIGHT!
Gadzooks! But it is hot and overcast and muggy in L.A. today!
It's like Atlanta weather, I swear!
I went to the annual Fur-B-Q last Saturday, which gave me the opportunity to actually see Spino face-to-face,
something that hasn't happened since, ooooh, Thanksgiving last year? This is why, when Sweetie and he picked me up at
my new apartment, they gave me my Christmas present: this Lego set.
Then we headed merrily to Orange County, as the Fur-B-Q was held in the usual spot, the Irvine Regional Park.
Spi and Swee dropped me off at the Park and left, promising to return later. That was the last I saw of them.
I was not worried though, as I had already made arrangements for a ride home with my buddy Warren "Whiskey" No-LJ.
Warren arrived in his car just as I was about to reach the spot where the festivities were being held.
This is kinda funny because Warren was working in the morning and was unable to attend until about 2pm, whereas Spino
was supposed to grab me at about 11am, so I should have arrived at the Fur-B-Q a couple of hours ahead of Warren.
But the usual Spino Factor kicked in and he didn't pick me up until 1pm.
Thus, Warren and I almost arrived at the same time.
Hilarity ensued.
The event was well attended, and I'll post a couple of crappy cellphone pics in a few days.
There was food and drinks aplenty for both furries and the bugs, which dined well on the many pasty-white bodies.
Despite not being pasty-white, I still managed to rack up an impressive number of bug bites: NINE!!!
If I had worn pants instead of shorts, the number would have probably been more like 3 or 4.
My biggest fear at this point is that one of those bugs that bit me might have been carrying germs that could
cause another case of cellulitis. I had my first case in late 1998, when something bit me, probably a spider,
and the back of my lower leg became covered with nasty things. I wound up at the ER, being pumped full of antibiotics,
and having my leg x-rayed to make sure the infection had not spread to my bones.
At least, if such a thing happens, I have full medical coverage and two weeks' paid vacation under my belt already,
giving me ample ammo to fight this thing and slay it. Still, I'd rather not have cellulitis again, plzkthnx!
And speaking of spiders,
