Two Passings

This is where I put on my sad face, because two of my favorite people have died today.

1) Patrick McGoohan, who won't see AMC's "The Prisoner" miniseries now.

2) Ricardo Montalban, who was every inch the gentleman and not above poking fun at himself.

These things are usually in threes. I shudder to think who Number 3 will be.

Man, my cultural world was just rocked. I can't imagine a world with Ricardo Monteblan's suaveness. No matter how crappy a part he had, he was always smooth.

Bob Wilkins

I had to look Mr. Wilkins up.
Hmmmm, he seemed to be more of a local celebrity.
I hope it's enough, especially if that means no one else has to die just yet.

McGoohan was a shoo-in for cool, edgy style.

Montalban, for me growing up, had been that guy on Fantasy Island. Then "Wrath of Khan" came out and a whole different side was exposed to me. Sauve, yes, but with a definite dark side when needed.

I think was Eartha Kitt would be #1 of this "3 celebrity death" series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ5VaBgXzuM

Actually, Eartha Kitt is #3 of the "Kick-Ass Women Trio Of December 2008 Passings".
Bettie "Pin-Up Queen Of The Universe" Page and Majel "Lady Trek" Roddenberry are #1 and #2 respectively.

These things only happen in threes because people observe them to happen in threes...

Eyup.

Oh, no. I've always liekd both of those (though I'm still trying to figure out THE PRISONER, because parts of it were so surreal...). I also always had sort of a crush on Ricardo Montelban too, him and Vincent Price, rest their souls.

(Far as I'm concerned, the threes already happened...) T_T
