OMG SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I'm a little excited right now.
No, no I'm not. I am VERY excited right now!!
There's a new trailer for "TRON LEGACY"!!!
Here are links to the trailer in various Quicktime HD formats: HD480p 74MB - HD720p 138MB - HD1080p 191MB

But if, like me, you have a crappy old computer that can't handle QT HD, here's a non-HD QT version.

December 17th in 3D and IMAX 3D!!
OMG SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Oh yeah, there's also a new "Iron Man 2" trailer. It's fun!
Again, QT HDs of varying sizes: HD480p 50MB - HD720p 122MB - HD1080p 178MB

And if you gots da crappy computer, here's a Zipped non-HD QT file.

I don't know. I saw the new trailer, and my excitment waned a little. I get this horrible feeling it's going to turn into some weird sports film. I'll still see it, of course, because I love the universe, but I am starting to wonder about it a little.

Ditto this.

But I'm reserving judgement.

I will reserve judgment until I've seen the movie.

But I do have an instant softie. For the record.

I'm not too keen on how this new digital world seems to just imitate our own world. I enjoyed the simplicity of the old Tron world because it did reflect computer logic and program environment (IE - control programs, simulations, hacking, etc).

This new Tron will have to get very technical to explain why some things are as they are.

That last part is dead simple: Computers are a tad more sophisticated in 2010 than 1982. Why shouldn't their world be an upgrade, too?

I don't buy it. Just because apple started using a different OS doesn't mean the program environment went from LEGO town to Gotham city.

If anything, the environment got more simplistic, the programs got massive and complex, and everything would be running around at 20-times the speed. If you were to tell me that the environment looks more detailed because the scale of everything else jumped up 100-times, and then showed me some old programs from the 80s running around the floor like ants, I buy that.

Well, to be fair, the universe's sense of time is dependent on CPU Clock. As long as the same programs are on the same mainframe, the will move at the same speed. Heck, as long as information is on the same server, they will move at the same speed.

... and then we have the PDA scene. Which makes the whole Universe that a program lives in about the size of a large apartment, and it can only rez and compile one program at a time. It is a very sad little world in a PDF...

We are SO going to that on opening night.

Everybody in the Valley knew perfectly well that they were filming Iron Man 2 in the Sepulveda Dam, where the signs said "Rasputin." Not sure why they even bother with diverting film shoot names anymore.

OMG, opening night is going to be a mob scene!
I'll bring the helmets and riot shields. :D
