I was in the shower when the Challenger exploded.
My father was watching the launch and told me when I got out.
I thought he was joking.
I watched the replays, unable to process what I was seeing until several hours later.

Astronaut Ron McNair was supposed to play the saxophone live from orbit.
His performance was to be the last track on Jean Michel Jarre's "Rendez Vous" album.
This is that track, with a guest saxophonist.

I was at home, I think I had the chicken pox, and I was watching the launch live. D:

it was pretty shocking for my 10 year old self.

I was in school watching it on TV when it went boom. I pretty much was in shock and listened to my little stuffed owl radio till the batteries died about the reports all day long.
