Last Four Digits

Hello out there in LJ-Land.
There are a lot of things going on, so without further ado (that's "ado", not "adieu"), let's get to it!

First, a sibling update.
He went back to USC today for his first session of chemotherapy. I came along with him.
So far, they don't think the cancer has spread to other areas. So he's going to get 5 doses of chemo in 6 months.
Then he's going under the knife and they're removing the tumor from his left breast.
Odds are that they'll remove the lymph nodes on the left side of his body as well.
The chemo is probably gonna knock him on his ass so he'll have to recuperate here.
He already visits everyday, so it's not much of a difference.
I don't know if he'll be able to continue DJing at Nirvana though.
This could be very bad financially. We need the small amount of money he gets from that.
I can't pay for both rent and storage with what I'm getting right now.
We'll have to take steps to insure things don't go badly on that front.

One thing I'm doing is looking for a job. I have an interview tomorrow and I hope it goes well.

Wigger Roommate is reaching new heights of annoyance and obnoxious.
Aside from hauling out his big TV and DVD player into the (small) common area and taking it over completely
(playing movies too loud, playing music from his laptop too loud, tying up our bandwidth downloading [c]rap,
and hogging the house's only phone line when he has a goddamn cellphone), he refuses to do dishes, or take out the trash.
This is all on top of many other varied minor annoyances and abuses.

And now, his latest exploit: scary away a new roommate! I was in my room, napping, so I only caught the tail end of it.
Here's the deal: Wigger's renting half of one room, and the lady in charge has rented the other half to this nice Indian
student for 3 weeks (ending May 1st). For one reason or another, the student hasn't moved in yet. He showed up tonight
and wanted to get his stuff in. Now, there's nobody else in the room right now, just Wigger. Well, this moron refused to
let the student move in, asking him to produce a receipt showing that he had paid the lady for half the room.
Stoner Roommate and I knew about this, and the lady had told us about it, so we told Wigger it was cool.
Wigger didn't even look at me when I spoke. He's really full of himself.
So anyway, the poor kid said he was coming back tomorrow to move his stuff in, and he left.
I called the lady in charge and told her what happened. She said that she had told Wigger about the student and there was
no reason for him to deny the guy access. She's going to come back tomorrow and straighten this out.
She also said something about getting Wigger to move out that day.
He was scheduled to leave by May 1st, but I guess he's too much of a nuisance.
We'll see if this actually happens.
Both Stoner and I (and the lady) would be pleased by this development.



I'll end this post with two small amusing anecdote.

1) Another apartment in the building is available for rent. A couple of signs have been placed out front.
Someone knocked on our door and I answered. A Latino gentleman asked me if I knew what the phone number was to get
information about the apartment for rent. I answered that there was a number listed on the sign. He said that he
had a problem with the last four digits. I said that I didn't know the number, which was true. He thanked me and left.
I was mildly puzzled by all this, and 10 minutes later, I went to look at the sign for myself.
It was a typical apartment listing agency sign and the phone number was XXX-XXX-RENT.
The last four digits spelled out RENT.
Bwahahahahahaha!!!

2) I was walking around yesterday, and I saw a brand new black 2005 Mustang GT with a rather pleased-looking black
gentleman behind the wheel. The car looked cool, mean, and angular. I really dig the new retro styling.
The license plate? LRD V8R (cue the first few bars of the Imperial March)
I grinned and gave the lord a thumbs-up. He grinned and thumbed me back.
It's all about the Lord Of The Sith, baby!! Bling-bling!
