I AM SICK
Indeed, I seem to be blessed with a pretty good immune system (there's gotta be
SOMETHING good about this body after all!), so I don't get sick very often.
So I guess it's that time of the year for my annual flu.
I was in the "runny nose" stage last night.
Today, it's the "itchy sinuses - groggy head - odd warmth" stage.
I got me some NukeQuil for tonight. Muahahaha!
In other news: finally picked up SSX Tricky for the ol' PS2.
My console game budget is pretty small, so I don't get games very often.
I'd like to get GTA: Vice City next.
The sibling and I have been up, down and all around the original SSX game,
so it was definitely time for an upgrade. Besides, SSX 3 comes out soon.
(SSX is the rootinest, tootinest console snowboard game East, West, North and South of the Pecos!!
It's fun, colorful, easy to pick up and full of characters. It's surpassed Tony Hawk Pro-Skater
as my favorite "jump on a board and do wacky shit" videogame. It's from EA Canada, eh?)
My default character on SSX Tricky is Brodi. He's something you don't really see in these kind
of competitive games: he's a very positive, zen, karma-centric snowboarder. He hardly ever
says anything negative. Whereas most of the other 'boarders are super-funky, bad-ass, kick-ass,
in your face, show-offy, bling-bling, super-tough... Urrrr... People.
This Brodi guy is, like, serenity incarnate.
He is voiced by Billy Zane.
And somehow, that doesn't surprise me.
It's really quite refreshing.
I'm digging it.
My brother always plays Elise, the Canadian pin-up with the superiority complex.
In the first SSX, I played Moby Jones, the brash British 'boarder.
Aside from Billy Zane, several other actors and actresses were tapped to do character
voices on SSX Tricky: David Arquette, Lucy Liu (Elise), Oliver Platt, Macy Gray (singer),
Bif Naked (punk singer), Jim Rose (a circus sideshow guy), Patricia Velasquez (from
"The Mummy"), and an anime voice actress from "You're Under Arrest", "Nadesico", who also
voiced a recurring game character in the Dead Or Alive (jiggle-jiggle) game series.
Anyway, I better go nap. The flu is kicking me in the head (throb-throb).
Later y'all!
